LAVA RIVER GAME

This is the one of the best games we had in our PPD sessions. It was very interesting and challenging. We enjoyed it and learnt lot of things from this game. From now I will explain you about this game.
As the name suggest in this game you have to cross a lava river. The task is cross the river by using given cardboard tiles. Each member of the team should cross the river and then stand on the other side of the river. The quickest team to do that will be  the winners.

My Experience

First of all our teacher grouped us.Then she gave us 4 cardboard tiles. The size of a tile is just less than A4 paper. After that she marked the brinks of the river. Then she explained the rules.

      Rules
  1.   If anyone touch the lava river when the game goes, he/she will eliminate from the game.   Eliminated player can't support his/her team from anyhow.
  2.   When positioning a tile it should be in contact with a members body. You can't throw that and then touch that.
  3.   Members can go across the river finite number of time.
  4.   The team who cross the river in least time are the winners.
After the game started first we had to find a right method to use. We tried few different methods but we failed. We only managed to go half of the distance and then we were unable to continue. But finally we managed to find a most suitable and accurate method and executed on that. We were successful. But unfortunately we ended the game as the runners up.

Things I learnt
  •  Team play
  •  Quick decision making
  •  Problem solving
  •  Time management
  •  Accurate communication

WHAT IS PPD?

What is PPD? Do you have answer for this question? Well, actually this was the main question we had when we heard that we have PPD sessions for our higher studies. But day by day we learnt and now we know “What is PPD?”. Before going to a more descriptive explanation I can give you a brief idea about PPD. It’s not just a subject with the collection of advises and theories. It’s just a subject that have made with simple but very effective and enjoyable activities.

PPD stands for ‘Personal Progress Development’. PPD allows learners to develop their skills in areas such as communications, reading and writing, mathematics, independent living, skills for the workplace, engaging with the world around them and most importantly their decision making abilities with the best personality. In simple words PPD helps young people who are waiting for enter the professional level to be successful and unique with their own skills.

As I said in the above paragraph there is no exact instructions or descriptions to learners in PPD. PPD enables students to develop those things through team games, sports, arts and crafts such as dramas and etc. Paper tower, River crossing and Culture are some activities in PPD. Those activities gives you lot of fun as well as so much knowledge. Also PPD gives you a chance to think different and out of frame. And your creativity will be increased and your personality and other soft skills will sharpened.
